Brian Betts is Colibri Group’s chief experience officer. In his role, Brian works to elevate and advance Colibri’s products, services, and experiences:
“We’re evolving from a transactional business into a more experiential one,” he says. “We’re doing this by developing recurring customer relationships and extending value across the span of their careers.”
After more than 20 years in leadership roles with Walt Disney Company (and, for a time, as an independent consultant), Brian joined Colibri Group because he saw an opportunity. He said helping others to achieve more and thrive in their careers — Colibri’s core mission — is a personal passion and serves as a North Star.
“If Disney is all about putting smiles on people’s faces, Colibri is all about helping people grow in their careers and preparing them to be as successful as possible. And to me, serving others is a purposeful and compelling cause.”
Outside of work, Brian spends time with his wife and son; he’s also a traveling foodie with a particular passion for sports and craft beer.
His favorite core value is curiosity: As Brian’s passion statement suggests, curiosity does, in fact, lead people forward. He believes actively listening, seeking out new experiences, and keeping an open mind allows him to learn from and relate to others. “What’s important to them?” he asks. “What are their pain points? Have I been curious and empathetic so that I can arrive at solutions and experiences that provide value to our customers?”
Brian holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering with a minor in business from North Carolina State University.
