ST. LOUIS, MO (Sept. 30, 2017) — Colibri Group, an education company with six leading brands that provides learning solutions to licensed professionals, today announced that its businesses collectively raised $10,000 for the United Way through the ‘Together for Texas’ campaign.
Hurricane Harvey made landfall in southeast Texas on Tuesday, August 29, dumping copious amounts of rain onto Houston, Corpus Christi, and surrounding areas. This was the worst hurricane to hit the continental United States since Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Almost immediately, businesses and organizations across the United States began fundraising efforts to help Hurricane Harvey victims.
Employees at Colibri Group quickly formed a 'Together for Texas' fundraising campaign that ran on Real Estate Express, McKissock and The Institute for Luxury Home Marketing for set periods of time in September. A portion of every online sale went towards the campaign, which ended up raising $10,000 for The United Way to support those negatively impacted by the hurricane.
"Most of our businesses operate in Texas, so we wanted to do something to help those impacted by the hurricane," said Heather Bartel, Director of Marketing at Colibri Group. “The fundraising campaign came together quickly with each brand doing their part to contribute. It’s just one of many ways we walk the talk when it comes to helping our customers achieve more.”
